Ohio Energy & Advanced Manufacturing Center

Lima's leaders intend to transform Lima into a center for advanced energy and manufacturing in Ohio through the Ohio Energy & Advance Manufacturing Center.

Their concept is to facilitate “The convergence of new players on a new playing field, developing
new processes and habits for horizontal collaboration is the most important force shaping global economics in the twenty-first century.”*

Lima Energy IGCC is a critical player in the Center, located adjacent to the Lima Energy facility, with its sustainable energy facility in construction.  When in operation Lima Energy IGCC will be a producer of such material inputs as synthetic natural gas, electricity, carbon nanofiber and liquid carbon dioxide for sequestration or enhanced oil recovery operations.

Amanda Township Reservoir

Lima Mayor David Berger announced on June 6, 2009 that the City of Lima is accepting bids for a new 5 billion gallon reservoir, pipeline and pump station, with construction expected to start within 60 days of the bid opening date of July 10, 2009.  Assistant Utilities Director Mike Caprella said that the estimated cost of the reservoir to be constructed in Amanda Township is $36 million.  Further he remarked that since as many as a dozen firms are expected to bid on the job, the lively bidding could produce a reduction in construction costs.

The new reservoir is necessary to support expanded manufacturing and processing in the Lima such as the new Lima Energy IGCC facility.
